Non-profit Association that opened the present Aquarium of San Sebastián in 1928. In this aquarium preserved biological collections are exhibit in the Museum, as well as alive collections in the aquariums. The museum also has a collection about navigation. Purpose: 1 - To spread the respect to the environment, as well as the importance of the biodiversity and the conservation of the marine species. 2 - To spread the marine culture. 3 - To advance in the knowledge of the marine environment through research projects. Strength: - To study of the growth of pelagic species of small size like the mackerel (Scomber scombrus) and the anchovy (Engraulis encrasicholus). - Reproduction of fish species of interest for the aquariums: Sparus pagrus, Labrus bimaculatus, Umbrina cirrosa, Hippocampus guttulatus and H. hippocampus.
