The French Committee for IUCN was established in 1992 as an association of law 1901 (OJ of 2 June 1993). Its articles are available at following link . Its head office at the Museum of Man, 17 Place du Trocadero, 75016 Paris, and his team in Paris is housed in the Museum of Man, thanks to an agreement signed with the National Museum of Natural History , founding member of the IUCN at international level in 1948 and founding member of the french Committee for IUCN in 1992.

It thus serves on several national bodies such as the National Biodiversity Committee, the Board of the forest and wood and the National Council of the sea and coastlines.
