Our lab blends genomics with ecology, population, conservation and evolutionary biology, to examine a range of interesting, and frequently fundamental questions in organisms ranging from invertebrates to marine mammals. Our work spans conservation, biosecurity, fisheries and aquaculture. Current areas of focus include the work on mating systems and mate choice in salmon, molecular genetics of sex change in fish, the use of environmental DNA for biosecurity and biodiversity monitoring, and the population genomics of marine mammals, sea birds and marine invertebrates.
