Rute Félix graduated in Biology from Universidade de Évora, Portugal. She obtained a PhD in Biomedical Sciences by Universidade Nova de Lisboa in 2011. Then she pursue her career as a Pos-Doc researcher in Centre of Marine Sciences (CCMAR) focusing in the study of G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) in vertebrates and invertebrates. Currently she is an auxiliary researcher in the Comparative Endocrinology & Integrative Biology (CEIB) group, at CCMAR, Universidade do Algarve (UAlg), where her research is focused in marine biotechnology using cell culture assays, intracellular signaling and Biosensor cell assays. She belongs to the ProtMar platform (Marine recombinant proteins and biosensors platform) at CCMAR, which aims to explore novel marine proteins using specialized equipment, methodologies and training (H2020-INFRADEV EMBRIC-Cluster/EMBRC). In CCMAR she is actively involved in advance training and outreach activities.
