Synopsis

The overall objective of this module is to provide practical and theoretical skills and knowledge concerning the health of aquatic animals, both in production and non production (wild) settings. The module will utilise a combination of lectures, practicals and fieldtrips to provide learners with knowledge and an opportunity to gain practical experience.

Diseases of invertebrates in aquaculture
Diseases of marine teleosts in aquaculture
Field and laboratory diagnostic techniques
Megafauna necropsy techniques

Fundamentals modules or equivalent

Aims

This module aims to provide interested students with an intorduction to the health of a wide range of organisms including invertebrates, fish and megafuna

Objectives

Aquatic animal diseases and their causative factors.
Using a case study approach to differential diagnoses of aquatic animal diseases
